6 ­ - 10 p.m.

Mix and mingle at the most beautiful cocktail party in the city! Groove to the sounds of live DJs, catch a tantalizing chef demo in the Edible Garden, and watch for surprise cultural performances. Complete the evening by purchasing dinner at MetroFresh in the Garden.

In addition to full cash bars, monthly themes highlight the fantasy sculptures of Imaginary Worlds:

Explore the fantasy world of Imaginary Worlds: Plants Larger Than Life lit under the night sky.

Garden Chef Demos
Stop by the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, 7 - 9 p.m., to learn fresh ideas from the Garden Chef.

Science Café
Join other science enthusiasts every third Thursday for a series of lively events featuring leading regional researchers and scientists, discussions and, of course, cocktails!

Social Butterflies Drink Features

The larger than life Butterflies of Imaginary Worlds are highlighted in May with two specialty drink features:

Painted Lady
8 Fresh White Grapes
3 Fresh Basil Leaves
3 Fresh Mint Leaves
1.25 oz Vodka
.25 oz Elderflower Liquor
.25 oz Lemon Juice
Unsweetened grape juice

Tear up and muddle the mint, basil and grapes in the bottom of the shaker. Add the other ingredients, shake and strain over ice. Garnish as desired with grapes or lemon.

Monarch
1.25 oz Crown Royal
.75 oz  Elderflower Liquor
.25 oz Simple Syrup .75 oz
Lemon Juice
Apple Juice
Club Soda

Mix all the ingredients together and serve on the rocks. Garnished with a lemon.

Cultural Performances

Thursday, May 16

Enjoy the sultry sounds of jazz fusionist, Eric Thomas. This multi-talented Saxophonist approaches the art of Jazz by fusing it with other genres and elements of music, the exploration of various time signatures, and unique textures of sound.

Cocktails in the Garden is partnering with the Jazz Festival as part of the 31 Days of Jazz.

Educator Night

Thursday, July 18, 6 – 10 p.m.

For one night only, educators receive free admission to Cocktails in the Garden! Explore Imaginary Worlds, stroll the Canopy Walk, experience habitats and frog calls in the Fuqua Conservatory, watch a cooking demonstration in the Outdoor Kitchen and relax with fellow educators.

Drinks and refreshments available for purchase. Present a school ID, verification of educator status or homeschool declaration of intent AND a state-issued ID. Parking is not included.
