Parterre Garden

Designed by Spencer Tunnell and Tunnell Landscape Architecture, the Parterre Garden was given the Award of Excellence for Landscape Design by the Atlanta Urban Design Commission. Formal, boxwood-edged beds are arranged symmetrically around an italian limestone fountain feature Dale Chihuly's dramatic blue and white glass sculture sitting atop the water.

The north-south paths links GardenHouse and the Exhibit Hall, while the east-west paths lead to the Rose Garden and provide a beautiful view of the Atlanta skyline. The beds are design to provide year-round color; they combine perennials for multi-season interest with annuals in the beds and terra-cotta containers. The Parterre Garden provides a colorful spot to sit and enjoy the fountain, view the Rose Garden from afar, or enjoy a snack on the Lanier Terrace.
