Drawing the Natural World in Black and White

Tuesdays, January 10 - February 7
10 a.m. - 1 p.m. OR 6 - 9 p.m.

Drawing is the foundation of the visual arts, and anyone can learn its basic principles. In this class, students will learn basic composition, proportion, shading and perspective. Through a progression of exercises and assignments you will be introduced to the visual elements: line, value, texture, shape and space. Students will work in a variety of black and white mediums (pencil, black pen, black marker and charcoal) with particular emphasis on natural and botanical subject matter.  Basic drawing can be a fulfilling experience for the curious beginner and it is essential for the aspiring artist. A supply list will be emailed with the confirmation.
